Autoship is a recurring delivery service that automatically ships a pet’s medication on schedule. Shipments are based on the medication prescribed, the number of refills you include, the interval between refills you define, and the client’s preference.
For veterinarians, Autoship is designed to improve patient outcomes and client compliance by ensuring pets receive their necessary medications and food on time, without putting the burden on pet owners to remember to reorder.
Autoship is currently only available for VetsterRx order in the US.
Here's what you need to know for your virtual practice:
- Autoship is available on select medications including Apoquel® (oclacitinib), Simparica®, (sarolaner), Cerenia® (maropitant citratze), and more. View the full list here. Additional medications will be added over time.
- Refills must be included. Autoship only appears as an option if you include refills when prescribing.
- Many clients are mindful of cash flow and prefer smaller, recurring charges rather than larger one-time expenses. Offering Autoship with the right number of refills provides this flexibility while supporting compliance.
- By choosing Autoship, clients save 5% on their medication and avoid shipping and processing fees on all subsequent orders.
